Correspondents’ dinner lacked highest security level despite presence of top officials

Ok…this is a bit of a rant but I am truly confused. First, though, I want to make clear that unlike some of Trump’s opposition, I do not - do not want at all - Trump or any of his psychotic Cabinet to die. I can agree with Clarence Darrow, however, who wrote in 1932, that "I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure."

For Trump, in particular, his dying would let him off far too easily. I still have a dream of Trump going to jail and losing most of his money as he was very likely to do before being pushed back into the White House by America’s Christian Supremacist/White Supremacist Deep State. Trump is now more indebted to them than to anybody he’s ever been. He owes them whatever little he has left and will do as he’s told

Trump is almost 80 - but appears as far older - and has significant medical and mental health issues, with obvious active cognitive deterioration, to include rapidly encroaching dementia. He just withdrew his two real estate agents, Witkoff and Kushner, from negations with Iran because it was ‘too much work.’

It took Obama two freaking years - and a HELLUVA lot of work by many highly specialized people to put together the original nuclear agreement with Iran. But his real estate agents and dish rag, JD Vance, spent 21 hours before deciding it was too difficult. The original nuclear deal with Iran was imperfect. But it was also gaining positive ground until Trump ended it in a single day for no coherent reason other than that Obama, a Black American President, had put it in place

To note, age is not a disease. But I can tell you to include from my own experience - I’m 70 - that it creates changes. But that is not ‘illness’ by itself. The Democrats and, especially, the media treated Biden’s age alone as an illness. The legacy media to notably include Jake Tapper, and others, hounded and wrote about every Biden slip or perceived slip up; every stutter (by a lifelong stutterer); any even if however brief bit of confusion.

But despite multiple red flags for encroaching dementia; medical illness, mental derangement and daily deterioration; the increasingly insane social media strings at 3AM; the profanity and posted threat to commit genocide; his confusion over names, time frames, History and agreements; speaking with the characteristics of one with dementia; constantly falling asleep at Cabinet and other meetings - much of this same media continues to largely give Trump a pass.

Why is that, exactly? This isn’t just an ‘optic’ with Trump but a major national and international security issue

There’s been some relevant reporting but nothing to remotely compare to the constant attacks on Biden who was, without question, far more efficient and effective a President than Trump could be on his most coherent day which, at his point, are long gone.

In fact, and despite Biden’s recognized issues and his slowing down, I’d put him back in the White House this minute over Trump and his collection of henchmen and handlers to include the Himmler look alike and virulent racist, Stephen Miller, and #Project2025’s Russell Vought.

I started this essay yesterday before the shooting at the White House Correspondent’s dinner. It has been identified that the Secret Service’s security level was reduced even though Trump and other senior national figures were present. Tickets were checked but, by report, personal ID was not. The shooter had brought an armory with him by Amtrak and was a registered guest at the same hotel allowing him access before the hotel was largely shut down to the public.

But nobody apparently noticed.

One would think a coherent response would be to seek security screening on interstate Amtrak trains. But Todd Blanche, Trump’s attorney, toadie, and acting AG, has already rejected that idea. One would think gun control legislation; gun access, availability and tracking legislation would also be prioritized.

But no, our least efficient and most grossly incompetent GOP Congress in American History is, instead, writing legislation for……Trump’s fucking ballroom. Even if the WHCD had been in Trump’s drone proof ballroom with bullet proof glass, that wouldn’t have stopped some rando loon from sprinting full speed through an entryway armed to the teeth.

I don’t trust about anything associated with Trump anymore. And even on the premise that the attack at the dinner was legitimate (and it, at least for now, seems so), it is just another remarkable coincidence as Trump, his sycophants in the DOJ and the GOP have jumped on it to sell the idiot ballroom while using it as yet another distractor from the Epstein Files and Trump’s hugely FAILED war of Epstein Choice in Iran.

I see absolutely no connection between another Secret Service security failure and breach with a rando loon carrying his small armory sprinting through a Secret Service check point and Trump’s White House brothel and ballroom. But our GOP Congress never saw an opportunity it didn't like and couldn't abuse to push their flawed, anti-American and anti- taxpayer agendas.

But the fucking ballroom??

It’s also worth noting that yet something else drowned out by the GOP is the fact that Iran’s Foreign Minister and Vladimir Putin are meeting - right now - in Moscow towards their alliance against the US, Trump’s war or choice in Iran and Putin's own war of choice in Ukraine. Perhaps Russia is sharing more targeting information with the Iranians. Iran’s FM also said, as reported by Russian TV, that 'the Islamic republic was “stable, solid.”

With this, also not covered is that Trump’s FAILED war with Iran has made that terrorist Islamofascist nation more geopolitically powerful than it ever likely imagined possible.

And Iran is now more directly governed by its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRCG) making it more into an intensely anti-West and Anti American Islamist military dictatorship. But I haven't seen this reality covered much. And, now, two of America’s most avowed and dangerous enemies are allied together and meeting in Moscow.

But the ballroom….

To conclude this rant (for now!), I also want to share that Trump and the US military continue to commit extrajudicial murder in the Caribbean and that these likely war crimes have been very poorly covered.

The US has now murdered over 180 people in the Caribbean since last September and we still have no idea who, why or the evidence the US pretends to have other than the nonsense and arbitrary claim that they are all ‘alleged’ or ‘suspected narco-terrorists.’

First off, this is a lie since as we know, for a fact, that a number of those killed have been innocent fishers caught up in the US military’s illegal assaults. And even if others were transporting drugs, being ‘suspected’ of such by the Trump Administration is not a capital crime allowing an order for their instant execution.

The US has an excellent Coast Guard one of whose responsibilities is to interdict and arrest drug runners. And the USCG does this job very well…but Trump’s executions continue unabated

Such extrajudicial murder violates international law and the US Constitution. It’s been long clear that Trump and his cult don’t give a shit but the US Military is sworn to uphold our Constitution and deny illegal orders from the President. That’s also made clear in the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

The criminals are the Trump Administration and, sadly, members of the US Military’s Southern Command. And in that I know military command level officers know their History, they should realize that ‘I was following orders’ completely failed as a defense after World War 2 at Nuremberg.

But there is, of course, Trump’s ballroom…
